Autonomous Vehicles and other Emerging Technologies

Communities all over the United States are dealing with an unprecedented amount of potential change as they plan for their transportation needs between now and 2045.  Within their next planning horizon, communities need to work with their MPOs and State DOT’s to decide how best to address the increasing deployment of automated, connected, electric and shared-use vehicles (ACES) and the associated complementary technologies.

As with all technologies in their infancy, there is uncertainty about likely outcomes and how to plan for them.  Mr. Strauss will provide some insight on planning for these emerging technologies through his work with FDOT and KDOT that can be applied to all DOTs.

THE LOCATION:

This is a new location to KCITE and a new experience:

THE BREW LAB.

Originally a home-brew shop offering instructional classes, the Brew Lab is a multifaceted Overland Park outpost brewery, self-brewing facility and pub in one, pairing elevated American fare like scotch eggs, braised beef tacos and blackened salmon BLTs with house drafts (sorry folks, not part of our menu). With it's rugged wooden fixtures, communal tables and string lights, the sprawling indoor/outdoor space evokes a modern beer garden.

Menu:

Street Taco Buffet with Chips & Salsa.

A vegetarian option is included with the taco buffet.

Reminder:

Please remember to renew your KCITE membership and corporate sponsorships for the new year.
